Weekly Reflection of Year 7 Learning #6

Today, I want to talk about the summative assessment that I’m currently doing at my school. In Cikal, this summative assessment is like an exam, but in the form of project. With this final project, the teachers will know our understanding about that topic.

Last week my teachers in all subjects already informed the summative assessment project that we will be working on for the next 2 weeks. So looking at the calendar, we should finish this project before the camp that I have told you in my last post.

Weekly Reflection of Year 7 Learning #5

Hi! Before I started this post, I just want to say sorry for not uploading any post last week. It’s because there’s not much activity happened last week because of Ied Al Adha, and also I didn’t have time to write it. So in this post, I will combine last week and this week reflection.

The most interesting topic in this two weeks is stress management in PSE (Personal and Social Education) lesson. The reason I think that the topic was interesting is because as long as I know, not every school give their students this kind of topic in the learning process, even though this topic is really important for a teenager. Because being a teenager means that we will experience a lot of stuff that sometime make us stressed out in some point. So learning stress management will be useful to prevent or reduce stress.

Weekly Reflection of Year 7 Learning #4

In this weekly reflection, I will tell you about the fun competitions that my school held from August 13th until 18th to celebrate Asian Games 2018 and Indonesia Independence Day. We called it The Mini Asian Games.

We compete based on our house and not based on our class. So, the meaning of ‘house’ in Cikal is similar to ‘clan’ that each clan consist of some students from each grade and also teachers and staffs. It’s the same with Harry Potter’s school- Hogwarts, if you know the story about that. So when we become Sekolah Cikal member, we will be divided into 4 houses: Phoenix, Centicore, Unicorn, or Dragon. Usually when there are special event or activity, all school member will be grouped according to their house.

Upacara Hari Kemerdekaan 2018

Selamat Hari Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia!

Karena ini Hari Kemerdekaan, meskipun aku sedang terus melancarkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris lewat tulisan-tulisan yang kubuat, hari ini aku akan menggunakan Bahasa Indonesia.

Seperti sekolah yang lain, memperingati hari bersejarah ini sekolahku juga mengadakan upacara bendera. Selain upacara, seminggu ini di sekolah juga ada berbagai macam perlombaan dan pop-up museum tentang Asian Games. Perlombaannya dibuat dengan konsep mini Asian Games. Namun cerita tentang lomba-lomba itu akan aku masukkan di tulisan refleksi belajar mingguanku saja. Sekarang aku akan menceritakan tentang upacara benderanya.

Upacara peringatan Hari Kemerdekaan di Sekolah Cikal dilaksanakan mulai jam 08.00 sampai sekitar jam 09.00. Seperti yang sempat aku ceritakan di Weekly Reflection kemarin, aku ditugaskan menjadi salah satu pengibar bendera. Jujur, aku sedikit gugup saat ditunjuk. Sebab aku belum pernah menjadi pengibar bendera sebelumnya dan karena aku takut kalau tidak sengaja akan memasang benderanya dengan terbalik.

Tapi pada akhirnya, Alhamdulillah aku dan teman-teman berhasil melakukannya dengan baik, dan upacara yang dihadiri seluruh murid dan guru tersebut berjalan dengan lancar. Semua berkat seluruh tim petugas upacara yang bisa bekerja sama dengan baik dan guru-guru yang dengan semangat melatih kami.

Setelah upacara berlangsung, suasana sekolah terasa sangat meriah. Kami diajak untuk mengabadikan momen itu bersama dengan membuat video melalui drone yang disediakan. Semua murid dan guru berkumpul di lapangan dan melambaikan tangan pada drone yang berada tepat di atas kami. Di sana, terasa sekali suasana kebersamaan yang sangat menyenangkan. Antar murid dan guru, seakan menjadi satu dan tidak terasa perbedaan di antara kami. Dan aku sangat bersyukur bisa menjadi bagian dari sekolah ini.

Sayangnya, aku tidak punya foto-foto rangkaian peringatan 17 Agustus itu. Andai ada, tentu kalian akan bisa merasakan kemeriahannya juga.

Well, tulisan ini kucukupkan dulu, tunggu ceritaku tentang perlombaan di Weekly Reflection yang akan datang ya! Tidak lama kok. Mungkin lusa akan kuunggah. Bye..

Weekly Reflection of Year 7 Learning #3

It’s a week left before Indonesia Independence Day! Because of that, in this post I will focus on telling you what my school prepared for the Independence Day and also one more interesting activity.

This week, the teachers informed that Year 6 and Year 7 students were chosen to be the flag ceremony officer, so everyone in that years will be involved no matter what.

Weekly Reflection of Year 7 Learning #2

The main thing that I want to write from my experience in the second week as Cikal MYP student is my first meeting of the clubs that I already join in! I join two clubs, taekwondo and vocal. The meeting of the clubs are on Thursday for taekwondo and every Friday for vocal.

For Taekwondo, one of the reason I join this club is because my parents want me to have enough skill to protect myself. And after thinking for a few weeks, I finally agreed. Because that way I can also do physical exercise more often and I also can try a new thing from it.

Weekly Reflection of Year 7 Learning #1

Hi! You already knew that I have so many awesome learning activities at my school. So, in my blog I will make weekly reflection that will be updated every Saturday or Sunday. In this series of learning reflection, I will write everything exciting or interesting that happen during my school activities in a week. The reason I make this kind of post is being able to reflect of what I have done in one week and to help me in achieving one of Cikal 5 Stars Competency, that is Self-Regulated Learner.

So, this was actually the first week after I finished the orientation program. This week we started the actual lessons and schedule. We got introduced about some topics we gonna learn in this first term (July-October). We (year 7 students) have 12 core and required subjects of learning, and 2 elective subjects that each student can choose differently.
